+65

re-visioning geospatial and density experience. 40-channel audio. 2013.

+65 takes the form of a performance-installation hybrid, confronting the participants with a radical environment through the use of spatialization, and speakers’ localization. The system re-visions sound as object, and as a vehicle to reveal geospatial and density experience via participatory play, spatial acoustics and human perception. Presenting synchronously in two different forms – the first involves participants observing the space as audience members, while the second presents the participants as performers within the system. The entrance of participants will change the ecology of the system, and will then re-establish (perhaps) itself in a new equilibrium state (or not).

+65 features a customized array of 40 speakers suspended from the ceiling, and utilises bespoke software and hardware configuration to enable the manipulation of 40 independent sources physically and virtually.
